Man this site is quite!! Over on table rock they are at least posting some blue gill pics. Is anyone cat fishing with some jugs at night or something?

I am not going out in the heat and traffic this time of year but I sure would like to hear about someone else's good (or bad) day or night.

Anyone fishing the jack pots?

Anyone been to Cabala's and thought about fishing? I am thinking about going there tomorrow for some spoons.

How about the thermocline, how deep is it right now?

It's hot.

Traffic is pretty busy.

Thermo is 23ft...ish.

I found a ton of fish but bite was non existent by 7:30. Took the day off Friday to take my visiting nephew. Gave both boys my best baits but they only had a couple nibbles. After some post fishing tube pulling, I gave it one more try. I finally got a bite and landed a nice smallie.

All I've seen in a while. It's super rough. Worst I've ever seen it.

And on a Friday, by 10 am it was starting to resemble a Saturday for ski traffic.

Yeah, the heat, traffic and slow bite has had me off the water for a while now. I got a small channel cat on a jug week and a half ago but don't fish jugs regularly. Im in cabelas all the time just looking at everything I would like to get. lol. Probably gonna stock up and wait this heat out and hit it hard late summer into fall.

I am getting ready for 7 days La inshore fishing trip in Oct. does that help? Not going out in this heat. It is the time of year to get honeydo's out of the way so when fall gets here I can be absent for a couple months huntin and fishing.

Not at all impossible to find a decent deep crank bait bite from Hickory Creek up. Best in the afternoons when they are generating. Ledges where the flats fall into the channel are best. Bluff ends with current will also produce.

Hey all, new poster here.

Just thought I'd throw in that a couple days ago I had decent luck with smallies and landed a nice 18lb stripe in the Big Clifty area.

The stripe came on a little baby sunfish. Trolling/drifting little sunfish and slabbing off points worked for the smallies.

Also lost a very nice stripe just under the boat on a slab.

I have been reading on this forum for a while now, figured I'd try to contribute.

Good luck... it's absolutely miserable out there!

A friend and I were out fairly early last Friday (trying to beat the heat) and had no luck at all ....until we finally hid from the sun and dangled some worms below the Hwy 12 bridge around noonish. Still spotty action...but we brought a few decent sized panfish home from about the 20-25' depth, and he nabbed one Kentucky as well. Has been brutal the last several trips out.

If they bit all the time they'd call it catching....instead of fishing...

Hey welcome to the forum Rman! Glad to see some are catching something! Haha. I got a new perspective today, spent the day actually below the surface of the water snorkeling around in rocky branch. Swam with some nice smallies and spots. Noticed they are all down around 15 feet or more, absolutely dead up shallow. At least during the day. These were cruising down along the bottom off of small shelfs. Got into a school of striper off of a main lake point towards Rambo creek. Down around 30 foot or so. Nice and cool down there. Haha. But now I have actually seen with my eyes what these fish are relating to now. Pretty cool stuff.
