Mofloatjunkie Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 put in at shelvin rock like usual. The weather was beautiful and the river is still flowing very well. I was fishing the big still spot past the first riffle and hooked a big cat on the ned rig. That was a fight I will never forget. It took me a good ten minutes to get him in. The usual spots I have been catching bass were not productive. I had to try and find deep water to catch the bigger ones. Only caught a handful of goggle eye, the bite on those fish has really slowed down. Bitsy tubes worked the best, dark green with chartruese on the end. I fished the z man worms for the first time on the Ned heads, they produced but imo no better than using any other worm cut in half. Cranks worked too, bright colors ran real fast. No crappie this time. Hope to get in a few more trips before the weather gets cold. All fish were released. All in all a great end to my vacation. Dougie 1
yaknar Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Mofloatjunkie, thanks for the pictures and the report. I think the river has been " flowing very well" all year long. Nice cat..Did you know what it was when you first hooked it?
Mofloatjunkie Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 I thought I was hung up at first. But when he took off and headed for the bottom I knew it was a cat. Was a great fight on a light action rod!!
