I'm taking my 9-year old daughter fishing tomorrow morning. We're going to be using spinning tackle either at Cooper Creek or down by Scotty's. I would go to Phil's, but his dock will probably be full.

Anyway, I've heard good things about Powerbait for trout, but I'm from the old school can o' corn & bag o' marshmallows days. I haven't been spin fishing for trout in years, but I want my daughter to have a good time catching fish. What suggestions do you folks have?

Do you recommend a place to fish as best? Any good bait ideas? What's working?

give it to me straight. I can handle it.

P.S. I'll be by to get my hat tomorrow, Phil.

i took my girlfriend trout fishing for the first time about 6 months ago and we did really well!! everyone says i should teach her to fly fish  i taught her to golf and now i cant go golfing w/ out her, so teaching her to fly fish isnt going to happen...i mean a fella needs his man time right!! a good location is down at the branson landing, end of bass pro parking lot, there is an area next to that bridge w/ two little shade trees, perfect place to bring a child, we caught fish almost every cast, also directly across the river at the other end of the bridge is good fishing also!! we used hot orange and bright green power nuggets put together (one on each side of the tri-hook)!!! ;) i hope you and daughter have a great time!!

You may be on the right track, Slip, but just ask LMW... It may give you some good alone time...

I agree with the Branson Landing idea.

And if Phil's dock is busy and the old pharts won't let your little girl have room to fish, just let me know...

And I'll have Duckydoty come down and beat them up!!

Thanks, Phil. What are they biting on right now?

I haven't had luck with marshmallows at Phil's, but he says they do bite on them. They will let little ones fish right over by the cleaning station or trout cam...Mr. Ducky tries it too! :D I did get some bites on salmon egg and marshmallow, but they left the marshmallow...sneaky fish!

I can bring home the trout...fry it up in a pan...and never let you forget I caught it! 'Cause I'm a woman!

Terry:

You are really good on the stuff you come up with :D . This should wake up LMW, he has been a little quite lately. :o
