Danoinark Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 It can attest it was cold but a few brave OAF'ers kept at it but without too much luck in the afternoon. Sorry I missed Ducky because he would have loved to have feasted his eyes on what Kansas Fly Fisher (John) was able to land in a pool right across from me: A six and a half pounder by John's Boga Grip. Leonard hooked another nice one on his "mink", but I distinquely heard the shrill of what I thought was a whistle. Steve was hard at it slaving over a hot stove and came prepared. He packed more Nathan's because he just knew Ducky would be there for lunch. The dogs were good and the green salsa warmed up your soul and other parts of your body. Here is JoRob waiting for a dog after catching a few. Flysmallie (Ronnie) caught a bunch earlier in the day so he was also ready for a break in the action. I again escaped the camera's image which is always a good thing. I had a great day. It was good to get out and among friends. again. My fishing was not that productive with only about a half dozen to hand. Caught mine on a purple san juan (ooops, sorry Steve I know I was supposed to be mum on that subject) and on my little creation from last night, an amber v rib scud, and even caught one on a disco bugger. I always reflect on these trips and can't wait for the next one. Its all because of the friendships that develop on these outings. The catching is secondary. Kansas Fly Fisher Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Sorry I missed you Mr. Ducky. Glad to see everyone is home and safe. It was a cold day for sure and the fishing was difficult, but it is always a good day when you spend time on the stream with friends. Nice to finally meet you Steve, Ronnie, and jOrOb. Always good to see you Dano. I'm already looking forward to the next one. Now I have to email my son and rub it in that I landed HIS big fish! Naw, I'm going to call him with this one. Kansas Fly Fisher Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Leonard, no SJ worm on this one, but there was one cruising the pool above this one that had a tan SJ worm on it's back near the dorsal fin. John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
