M_Taylor Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 The wife and I got a few hours on the water tonight. 6-8:30pm Launched out of PC and went south and fished main lake stuff. Tons of shad everywhere but nothing happening on top. Ended up with one nice largemouth on drop shot as well as some dinks. Tried different topwater but nothing at all. Not even a swipe. Went to a Spinnerbait and caught a number of fish. Got 3 decent fish on it and a few dinks too. All in all not bad. Lake seems to be waking up again. On a different note: we were by Escalapia when an aluminum canoe paddled out of the cove and went right towards the middle of the channel. It was 8:05! Keep in mind there was a tournament going on as a as pleasure boaters still roaming. So dumb! They headed towards Beaver Shores. We fished awhile later and by the time we had gotten to 12 Bridge it was pitch black and there was the canoe paddling back under the bridge. At this point they head a dinky head lamp but nothing adequate. Keep your eyes out folks. I have good eye sight and knew what I was looking for and still couldn't spot them after about 50 yards. I took a photo. Look for the tiny speck. Lance34 and Bradsnation 2
J-Doc Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Canoe?? Maybe it was Obama and Bear Grills out for Obama's survival training. Oh wait.....that's in Alaska currently. Sounds do like the topwater bite died off with this heat wave this week. I was hoping for an early morning topwater bite Saturday morning. Guess I better have the ole bling blade ready just in case. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Dan the fisherman Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Thanks for the report. Those canoers r crazy! Wow...... I got out yesterday evening and got 5 Kentuckys and 1 15in striper on top. Loads of fun, just had to be patient and wait for them to bust. I tried a spoon but they wouldn't take it. Oh and I did catch 1 LRM, it wasn't very long, about 13in, but man was it fat with shad!! I should have taken pics. Oh well next time. Lance34 1
M_Taylor Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 It could have just been where I was. Glad someone else found some on top. I focused on two small areas because I was getting bit there.
