moodyfour Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Looks like the weather may cooperate for opening weekend!!! Can't wait to get out and enjoy the start of another great year! Hope everyone had a great summer, and look forward to seeing your stories and pictures! JohnP and BilletHead 2
BilletHead Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Right back at ya Moodyfour, If it rains tomorrow may have to take a drive to the local duck park early to see if there is anything flying. Have not seen one while dove hunting flying around. Not sure how it will be the first week but here is to hoping they will show up and it will happen! The BilletHeads "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" "May your fences be short or hope you have long legs" BilletHead
JohnP Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Been seeing a few around but have a feeling the front will push them out bit hopefully bring a few in ;). BilletHead 1
Kayser Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Illinois opened last weekend, and it was bad... The males left on the front last week, and a hole with 4500 had 100 birds left, with a few more scattered in flooded grain fields. Some people scratched birds, but no limits, and they have exclusive permission for a lot of land. I hope this front brings in more birds, preferably dumb juveniles. Not sure if I'll hunt local or make the 2-hour drive to Illinois, but I will be hunting Saturday. WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
