Dan the fisherman Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 Ok fellas. I'll be out in a blue nitro. Good luck out there. I'll be launching out of PC also. So give a wave and I'll be sure to do the same. Good fishing ???
Blll Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Well I hope you all did better than I did. 7:30 till noon. Worked Ventris. Main lake point 1st thing. 3 small spots on spook. Trolled flicker shads & flicker minnow all the way back. two more small spots, two big gills and a dandy 20" walleye. All hit the flicker minnow. Long morning with playing in the deep trees. Lost 4 baits. Gotta be a better way. Great morning but zero surface activity all the way to the end, almost no bait seen. Finally a cool morning on the water. Got hot, came in.
J-Doc Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Interesting that they ate the minnows. I used to buy some but stopped because I never caught much on them. They also never ran as deep as they were supposed to even using 10lb floro. And a 20" walleye on this lake is a record day lately. I swear if I had a dollar for every 15"-17" super skinny walleye that I have caught in the last year, I think I could buy both of us a good lunch and possibly desert too. I haven't caught a keeper sized walleye in a long time. I think I had one almost 18" back in June. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. Dan the fisherman Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 Well I didn't get to go as early as I would have liked, but did eventually make it out there at 12. Fished HSB to MN. I threw a spinner bait and crank bait first off and couldn't get anything. I noticed a few schooling fish and went out to them and got bit immediately.. Nothing big. About 10 inches. I kept all Kentuckys that were under 12in for my boys to eat. I worked a spoon a bit too. Got a 1 1/2 cat fish and a couple more spots.. Fishing was best when clouds cover the sun..ended up with 5 little eater spots and a nice cat.. Water temp was 78-80.. Lance34 and Blll 2
Members showmebass Posted September 23, 2015 Members Posted September 23, 2015 The parents were in town visiting, so Dad and I hit the water early today in search of crappie. It was a great morning. I usually don't use minnows, but we did this morning and I was sure glad. We caught 2 limits by 10:30, and the larger fish (12+ inches) were mostly caught on minnows. Lots of fun. Blll and Lance34 2
Dan the fisherman Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 Nice job showmebass. I'm a terrible crappie fisherman. I just can't stop chasin bass or striper to actually take the time to learn how to crappie fish.
