moguy1973 Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Yesterday Bassmaster#1 and I floated from Campbell Bridge to Blue Springs access. We fished this stretch in early spring of 2014 and I think we caught all of 1 fish that trip. Did a little better this time. Started out being a bad day when he forgot his kayak paddle at home, but luckily the guy at Blue Springs Ranch rented him one for the day. We thought it was going to be a huge topwater bite for the day when our first couple casts got some huge blow ups on a WTD and a plastic buzz frog. But then we didn't get any more top water action the rest of the day. He ended up with 20 and I got 11, but nothing of any size. Caught most on tubes, a few on the Ned, and he got some on a floating Rapala minnow. He had a few big ones early hooked up but couldn't boat them. I don't think I had a single fish that was over 10" all day, with 10 being smallies and 1 large mouth in there. It's kind of disappointing for how beautiful that stretch is, both in how marvelous the water looks and how the scenery looks. So much good looking water with boulders and chunk rock along one bank or the other pretty much the whole length of that float. Very few places that don't look like they should hold some fish. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
