mic Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Hey all it is a little early to start the actual swap, but I'm looking for theme ideas for this year. We have done trout, bluegill, and anything goes. Any one have any ideas. I'm thinking maybe Wollys, terrestrials, or crawdad flies.
DaddyO Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I'll play. Count me in. I'm game for whatever the group decides. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
Kayser Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I'm in, but I might need a PM reminder, as I might skim over the fly tying subforum more than I should. Maybe a trout attractor pattern swap? Tim McDougald 1 WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
XP 590 Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 How about going micro? Nothing bigger than size 20? Kayser 1
mic Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 These are some great suggestions... going to be tough to decide. Lancer, I think I'm liking your idea. It would be fun to see what this group of crazy could come up with.
bs1827 Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Count me in. I think a topwater or terrestrial swap would be a blast. I'd love to throw in some handpainted poppers.
mic Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 Ok... here is an idea, but I need some buy in from everyone. It was suggested, and I like it: we skip the "swap" this year. We each ID and tie one or two of our favorite Ozark flies (trout, river, pond). Everyone can send them to me and my wife will take some pics of all of them. I'll get recipes from everyone and work with Phil to load them on the forum and on his website. We can do this if people like the idea. FYI... I can also support a small swap if some people still want one (unless this becomes big). So what do you think.
Lancer09 Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Either are fine with me! Just let me know what you decide.
