timsfly Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Fishing was pretty good so far today, nice and wet, nobody around, but I did mangage to catch a lot of small fish, and these two, one was 8 and the other was 7 pounds, caught them both on a #16 apricot glo-ball. http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u294/timsfly/P2120038.jpg http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u294/timsfly/P2120040.jpg I'm heading back as soon as I dry out a bit, and yes of course Steve was there, he was just starting to fish as I left, he can have the peace and quite for awhile. Terry Beeson Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I'm heading back as soon as I dry out a bit Aw Tim... A little rain never hurt nobody... Flysmallie Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Well I couldn't let Steve have all that peace and quiet by himself. Of course when I showed up he was doing what he does best, sitting in the truck. I only got to fish for about an hour. Caught a few on a pine squirrel and a few on a red and black zebra midge. They were taking some flies off top so I decided to try a dry. It was raining hard at this point and I could not get the head cement out of the eye of the only dry I had. I took a scud and greased it up real well and tossed it out there. Well they liked that, I was amazed. Caught four or five on that and went home. Â Â
Terry Beeson Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 ...I could not get the head cement out of the eye of the only dry I had... I HATE when that happens! It's like the other night. I'm in the attic and I got a bunch o' mousetraps, ya know? And, for bait, I used a big piece of, uh-- cheese... Right? So, so I set the trap, right? A-a-a-a-and I wanna see if the trap was gonna work, right? So I got the cheese in there. But every time I went to taste the cheese, the thing came down right on my tongue! ... I'm tellin' ya -- after forty, fifty times, I - I - I couldn't even feel the cheese, much less taste it. I hate when THAT happens, I'll tell ya that. Don Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Nice fish Tim, You da man. Good to hear Steve's back down there. Thanks for all of your help yesterday. I really love my new net, if i only caught one big enough to test it out. My friend caught about 30 and alot on Griffith;s Gnats during the BWO hatch yesterday. I only caught 8 on various flies. Lotsa strikes on olive marabou leech in the big hole in fron of the lodge. I spent most of my time lunker hunting. I hooked one 5lb or so on a micro egg but that fight didn't last long. It was good to get out for a change. Don Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
