I saw that line also looked like a thermocline but that makes no sense at 72 degrees but I am betting it is algae and attracting shad. I have seen it from point 5 down to 10, I didn't see it south of the bridge.

Yes and no.  Big fish arches are fish.  I saw lots of marks around 50 ft Sunday morning.  And they were fish.  Not algae because I could see the fish on structure scan.  Clearly stripers or gar as they were big arches on sonar and defined arches on structure scan.

Water is turning over so fish are moving all around.

I think what he is talking about is a broken line looks like dashes right across the screen at 40 feet at least 5 feet wide, it looked like a small stuff suspended and stayed at 40 feet in 100 or 160 feet of water. I thought with the water cooling that the theromcline line should have disappeared but it seems to still be there. I am guessing the water temp is around 60 at that level but never dropped a thermometer to find out.

J-Doc if you are seeing big fish below that line I am guessing stripper still hanging in cooler water, I am thinking the lake needs to cool another 10 degrees or so to scatter the cold water fish top to bottom. Crappie and bass really don't care about colder water since 70 is great to them.

He didn't provide an image so I assumed he was seeing much the same thing I've been seeing.  Lots of arches around 40-50. Some are schools of whites roaming around at all depths above the thermocline. They like to move around a lot.

Yes a solid line indicates thermocline.

I've been marking the same arches. I have tried weighting ahead of flickers to get it in the zone. Also have drifted and tried jigging spoons , drop shots, and Ned rigs down to them and have never yet caught anything.  I keep telling my wife the sonar is lying to me. I can see my lures while drifting going right down to them but never even get a nibble. I just keep telling her its gar and carp, but some of the arches sure look big and fat???????????????? Eventually I will get a keeper striper.  I talked to a fisherman who said that the stripers were already way south of the 12 bridge, and catching them on top. Others tell me to just be patient and they will be here, the water needs to cool more? I just don't seem to have the patience and keep thinking I already missed the run.

Vinsott u haven't miss the run.  Just from my personal experience I can say that some striper move up faster than others.  I've actually caught 10lb stripers past hwy 412 bridge during  thanksgiving week, and the following week catch them between MN and HC.  I haven't got into them yet.  But I'm on the hunt..  Well kinda, boat is out of  commission..  But as soon as I get it back.  I'll be on the water!  But again I'm no expert on striper.  That's just the personal experience I've had fishing them on beaver the last 4 years.

I always look for them in the backs of coves this time of year.... Way shallower than you would think.  5ft or so.   At sunset in coves full of shad.

always a good idea!!

Ha!  He's wrong. NOthing to see here.......move along. Everyone knows stripers live near the dam and eat small children and bass.  Nothing is shallow this time of year.....keep it moving.   Repeat.....nothing to see here folks.   No shallow fish in coves...
