Members Fishin4Fun Posted October 24, 2015 Members Posted October 24, 2015 Had a fun night out with my son and some other guys doing a little kayak fishing. We had a big bass competition going, put on by Eric over at Ozarks Extreme Outdoors. Fished from 5pm to 9pm. The wind was blowing pretty good until about 6pm and then it was like glass the rest of the night. Was able to get a nice 17 1/4" large mouth on the Whopper Plopper. I also missed about 4 others on it. I also hooked a couple nice smallies on a black and blue jig. Unfortunately I got them right up to the kayak and they said goodbye. Fishing seemed to start out hot with that wind, but once the wind died down it was very tough. I'm sure I could have caught more on the Ned, but decided to focus on the Whopper Plopper and jig. Wish I could say I took first, but Richy, who is on this board all the time took that honor with a 18+" smallie. Great job Richy! I will get you next time. :-) Here is a picture of my LMB and a couple others of the scenery and my son. I love getting out and enjoying this beautiful lake we all get to enjoy. Such a blessing!
