bkbying89 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Does no one fish M.T. anymore? I admit I stop fishing thereBecause of the ramps being overcrowded and the tournament crowd thinking they owned the lake. Still the fishing was decent for me when I was there last. What happened that no one post about this lake very much. marcus 1
marcus Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 i took 4 or 5 yrs off of fishing there went back 2 or 3 times this yr. we did great its a good lake people say its no good lately but the way i look at it there just not catching them cause the shad population is so good. i think those fish get so fat on shad everyday they just ignore lures. anyways ill post a report next time i go got no truck now so i cant pull my boat up there unless i can motivate friends or family to pull my boat there otherwise i would have went more
Haris122 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Of the big lakes in Missouri, it's the lake I've gone the most to, but that doesn't mean much since that means I went twice. It's reasonably close and cheaper to stay by, than a lot of the other big lakes it seems, at least from St. Louis, but still kind of far enough away that I can't go frequently. Btw, what's the latest to go to it, before it turns too cold there to be productive as I'd like to go again this year.
marcus Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 the sea wall that protects the indian creek marina always holds crappie yr round i bet u could fish it in jan and feb and still catch fish as for the bass bite id wait till the sun is high in the sky before u even bother throwing anything id stick to crappie and white bass in the winter there any other kind of fish is hard to get a bite in the winter there
Haris122 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Sweet. I'm craving going there again soon. marcus 1
bkbying89 Posted December 6, 2015 Author Posted December 6, 2015 I hunted the lake area before it was flooded and started fishing it as soon as I could afford a boat. I caught a 7-pound walleye and a lot of nice bass. Glad to here the fishing is still good. When you have a lot of shad the fishing gets tough. Fishermen just got to get tougher. marcus and SmallyWally 2
