MrsDucky Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Working on 'em...seems the thing to do on a Saturday night, anyway! I can bring home the trout...fry it up in a pan...and never let you forget I caught it! 'Cause I'm a woman!
jjtroutbum Posted March 25, 2007 Author Posted March 25, 2007 Not a problem Zach and thanks for giving notice early enough so that it wont stop other participants from getting theres returned asap. Everyone send the complete set and I'll throw in another pattern so that all will still get 10 different flies. Except me Ill get two of each Jon Joy ___________ "A jerk at one end of the line is enough." unknown author The Second Amendment was written for hunting tyrants not ducks. jjtroutbum Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 Well we've gotten a couple of sets in now and these fellas sure can tie. So I'm gonna have to a couple of hours in practicing in before I get serious about my ties. Updated first post also while I was here. DeepDiver75 Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Nobody said anything about these flies actually looking good!! I hope it's not a pre-requisite to be a good tyer to enter these swaps? In all seriousness I have only been tying for a little under a year now and I still have a lot to learn. I don't know about anyone else but after the flies have been exchanged I would welcome any comments from people who recieve my flies (as long as you're not too hard on me). Most of what I know I've learned from trial and error so good advice is always welcome.
Randall Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 don't worry. to me, the pressure of tying for others is what the swaps are about. because you want your best work going out, you put a little more care into the patterns, and become a better tyer for it. i'm a novice tyer by all means, so don't worry about being the only one... this is my first swap too. just do your best and its fine. jjtroutbum Posted March 28, 2007 Author Posted March 28, 2007 No biggie DeepDiver. I can vouch that some of your flies have caught me plenty of fish in the past. The Caddis Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Glad to see they arrived. I sent flies for another swap and it took about 3 weeks to get there. I hope they are up to par and everybody likes.
DeepDiver75 Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Finished tying my flies last night and will package up this weekend and have in the mail on Monday. I'm looking forward to seeing everyones patterns and trying them out.
Steve Smith Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Mine are in the mail this afternoon. ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO
