nomolites Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 FWIW following the contour trolling is best with the electric at low speeds; i.e. bottoms bouncing for walleye. I usually do not use it when pulling cranks at higher speeds - just advanced I pilot. If you bottom bounce, however, it is the cat's meow having the Link. Mike
Blll Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 J-DOC, I think your choice of MK is smart. I always had a MK until my Nitro came with a MG. Hated it and was terrible in any weeds. Not an issue here but my Maxxum has been a horse for almost 9 years. I thought it had died this year and had a Terrova with I-Pilot in my sights and even a thumbs up from the boss. But a simple fuse link fixed the problem and I couldn't justify a new one...yet. Really looking forward to having spot-lock when the Beaver breeze blows. Good luck with your motor. Anyone in particular have the best pricing?

Anyone in particular have the best pricing? One of the main reasons I want it....windy conditions. Cabelas is taking care of me. They always have. I'll have them do the install. I know they will do it right and do a top notch job. Their prices are typically as good as anyone else on large items. Sure, you can find a cheaper spinnerbait or hunting gear and whatnot from the store but on marine stuff, I find they are competative. When I bought my boat, they had the cheapest price around on Lowrance graphs. I shopped that hard. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. Seemed a bit too much and just something else to brake. Also, I don't like having to use an electronic motor to deploy the trolling motor every time. A lot of wear and tear if you deploy the TM multiple times in a trip. That adds up fast. Again, I don't have HB graphs and MK will only connect to HB graphs, not Lowrance. I prefer Lowrance graphs over HB. It's what I'm used to and I can read them better. My ultimate reason for this post was to see who had one and who was willing to meet me at a ramp/dock for a demo. But my mind is made up so I'll be listing the Fortrex soon. Some bass jockey will get a great buy on a great 1yr old trolling motor. :-) Need marine repair? Stump bumper Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I think I will wait 3 months for you to get tired of the new one then bid on that! Lance34 1
Notropis Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 J-Doc, I just bought a new Terrova with I-pilot and would be happy to meet you at the ramp if you want to check it out. J-Doc 1
nomolites Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 I upgraded to the Ulterra this year actually, and yes, it is ridiculous. I love ridiculous. Mike J-Doc and 1969Larson 2
