Drove around the other day Hwy 412, Blue springs, and friendship creek areas.  Water color looked good to me.  Not mud, or brown but clear with a green tent to it.  Hard to explain...Planning to get back at it next week.  Figure my best bet would be slowly pushing minnows and cast n drag shooting docks.

Best of luck to those that get out there.

I found 2-3ft visibility. It sounds like the river is a good starting point. Until the next flood anyway. I'm content catching crappie & need to learn the techniques you mentioned. I'm a slip bobber fisherman but want to try drift fishing & drop shotting for deep fish. The walleye should be upriver too.

I looked at PC water temp and it was 44. MN was 42-43 and also checked out point 12. It was 41-43 depending where u were at.   I don't have a fishing report sense I didn't catch a fish. But I was at least able to get temps. Point 12 looked not to bad, as did PC.  MN seemed to be the dirtiest

I was out all day 1-23-16.

The thread fin should be dying off with those temps. The ones that are getting ready to die should be in large clusters and easy pickins. has anyone been spooning around those shad balls?

Stump I did see some shad swimming on they're sides in the shallows.  I never did see a big bait ball out in the open.... That's what I was trying to find.   It's weird out there for sure.  Beaver has truly turned into a mystery for me. Maybe it's time to chase something other than a striper.  Maybe get back to casting for lil green fish.

I just drove past PC and noticed the water was green up in the creek, I am betting there are some big green fish up that creek.

Depending when exactly you went by, at least one of those rigs could have been duck hunting the islands.  Now that it's frozen some further north it's gotten relatively good here.  Course, our season is about over, but there are birds here now.

Silence is golden.
