Mark Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Brian, do you know about when the stocking will begin in the spring? I made a trip over Christmas, and friends made a trip recently and the fishing was slow for both.
jdmidwest Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Mark, they usually stock the same months that trout parks are open in Missouri streams. March thru Oct., once a month. Maybe extra stockings if they have a surplus of fish. Some streams will not get a stocking in July or August due to warm stream temps. 11 pt has gotten a special stocking in the past in Dec., but I don't know for sure if that still happens. Brian Sloss Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 We usually start seeing the stocking truck in April. During the busiest part of the summer they are stocking about every other week. They do not announce stocking dates. Sometimes they do one stocking in Dec, which I think they did this year. I say this because I know someone, who knows someone, that claims to have seen the stocking truck in Dec. Take that for what it is on the reliability scale. They have stocked in Dec some years though. We might get one in Mar depending on weather and roads. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
netboy Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Brian, do you think we lost some trout due to the flood? Hope not...
Brian Sloss Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Most of the fish come through the floods just fine. We may lose a few, but normally they are fish that were in poor shape and were going to die soon anyway.. Every now and then a fish will get caught in low area away from the river and can't get back to the river. It is not significant in my unscientific opinion. All and all they will be fine surviving the floods. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
