Lifes2Short Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Clarity and water temps please, thanks. If you are headed to The Rock this weekend we went today and had 7 on Warts! Be prepared though the water is very dingy out of Aunts Creek, one foot visibility and 46 to 49 water temps. Main lake around Joe Bald is even dirtier.
Skeeter ZX190 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Went out today, Saturday. Fished from Orleans Trail to State Park. Water temps were 44 to 47 degrees. Maybe 2 foot of clarity. Only caught 2. Both largemouth. One was 16 1/2 and the other 14 1/2. Both came on a Eakins black & blue jig with a Zoom craw. 10 to 15 feet of water. Both were very white. Not much color to them. Even though the surface has 2 feet of clarity, I wonder what it's like down 10 feet or more. I have no idea where the fish are. We fished stickbaits, rock crawlers, warts, & grubs. We fished mainlake, back toward the back of the bigger creek arms, and in between. Lifes2Short 1
Basschomper Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 I went with a buddy today and could almost paste and copy skeeter's post. With a few exceptions. We fished from Greaser Creek to Googer Creek with maybe a little less visibility.
Lifes2Short Posted February 21, 2016 Author Posted February 21, 2016 I also went out yesterday out of Old State Park, caught a keeper on the third cast on a Wart and thought " here we go!". 4 hours later I caught a 14" walleye on the shakey head and that was it for 8 hours on the water. Nice day on the lake tho weather wise!
