Skeeter ZX190 Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Put in at Orleans Trail and started there. Water temps were in the 51.5 degree range about everywhere I went. Water might be clearing a little bit from what it was last Saturday. Started with a jerkbait but nothing. Switched to a rock crawler in phantom green. Caught 2 shorts on back to back casts at a transition bank from chunk rock to pea gravel. Came to that same spot later in the day and caught 3 more on a ned rig. Ended up with 10 bass and one nice walleye. The walleye came on a ned too. Gave the walleye to a father & son that were fishing way back in Orleans Trail. They were catching some white bass. None of the largemouth bass that I caught were keepers. Driving to the lake I noticed most cows were laying down. Somebody had told me once that cows laying down is a bad sign when it comes to fishing. dprice, Unimog and 5fshlmt 3
Hammer time Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 My grandfather told me the same about the cows laying down, he said is was a sign that critters were resting and not on the move feeding. Don't know if that's true or a old wives tail, I can add this in my 40 plus years fishing seemed fishing was slower on those days.
Unimog Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 I'm heading down this evening and fishing tomorrow and maybe Tuesday. What's the overall clarity like? Looked like it was going to be nice tomorrow. Anyone else fishing tomorrow?

Unimog Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Awesome! I'm sure they'll have lockjaw tomorrow lol. Story of every fishermans life "shoulda been here yesterday". I'll be putting in at the dam, try some areas down here and might head up the little sac. I'm in a yellow and black rig in case anyone's around.
