Put in at 39 today got a limit of crappie. All males except 1 caught all of them on jig and bobber set about 18 inches deep. Black and chartreuse seemed to be the color of choice. Water Temps was 57 degrees were my fish came from. My boat was in about 5 feet of water . I was fishing a rock pile in a small cove that the wind was blowing straight into. My guess is the next couple of weeks are going to be fun times for crappie fishermen.

Good for you. Were there many shorts? Read the 2013 spawn was a little low so you will catch more of the 2014 group. Wondering if that seems to be true?

Thanks for report....Congrats....Sounds like a you had a great day. Its fun watching that float go down no matter how old you are....Haha....Your right about the crappie bite picking up in the next few weeks. Like everyone else I'm ready for crappie, morels, and turkey season.

KRAMER didn't have any shorts. I lost as many as I kept due to being to lazy to get my net out and all the slack in my line from the wind blowing out half a spool of line every time I would cast. As for you basschomped enjoy  work while I enjoy 4 days on the water with the crappie biting
