The whole lake should be HOT right now! So pick a spot and go! The upper end may be slowing down a little but anywhere mid lake to lower lake should work just fine. Go about half way back into any of the creeks and start fishing to the very end look for pea gravel. If that creek doesn't work jump over to the next one some have more fish than others. Good Luck!

Thanks.   We put in at fairfield and fished about 5 different coves as far up as just past osage bluff and south just past 83 bridge and only got 3 keepers, males.  Only cought about 6 all day.  Pretty windy though.  Water temp was anywhere from 63 - 67.   We tried pink/chartreuse twister tails, pink/black shad poles, white grubs on a rooster tail head, and couldn't catch much.   I'm guessing fairfield is part of the upper end?

I would consider that area to be mid to lower end of the lake? I've been fishing the mid Grand River arm putting in at Bucksaw, Bobby Garland's Baby Shad Swimmer in Lights Out has been working great for me early in the morning and when the sun gets up and shines hard on the water I switch over to Electric Chicken, Blue and Chartreuse, Blue and White. It has been an early bite with the action really slowing down towards noon for me anyway. I have been using a 1/32 oz jig a lot this year and most of the time never feel a hit sometimes the line just goes slack or feels heavy sometimes the line just moves off to the side. A 1/32 oz Road Runner style jig with the Bobby Garland baits has been working great for me I think that the lighter weight allows for a much slower retrieve. One thing about Truman the crappie do not all spawn at the same time it will vary widely across the lake, if an area isn't producing for you move. Maybe they just haven't moved up at the area where you were fishing? It will get better!

We caught all ours mid way back in creeks of the middle grand like everyone else but we were dipping trees 4.5- 6fow anywhere from 20"-36" down. Steeper banks & transitions. Caught some off isolated trees on the flats. Temp 72°. All females still had eggs. Now if this tom will just get in bow range.

Well he finally made it over here. Hope this pic  doesn't offend anyone.  But it's not any different than fish eggs. Forgot to mention I was catching big crappie dipping a creek mouth in the bright moonlight Friday night

Thanks for the info.  We'll have to try next weekend back in some creeks, hopefully have better luck.
