duckydoty Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Fished in zone 1 with jigs. Started kind of slow, but pick a few up here and there. Ended up catching a 3 1/2 pounder. My first lunker ever at a trout park. Weighed it in at 11:30 and there were only 5 other lunkers weighed in. Water was kind of murky and the crowd was not as bad as I thought it would be. Made a short appearance on the Springfield KY3 news. They gave away my honey hole Duckydoty A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners

brittsnbirds Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Did you by chance get rousted out of slumber like I did Thursday morning? I thought they had a car chase in the park. Driving around with their light bars and sirens going. I had to stop one of them to tell me where to go for safety! The crazy part was it was 65 degrees out. Later when the Sun came up it went to crap.
duckydoty Posted March 5, 2007 Author Posted March 5, 2007 I was sitting on a rock in the river at 4:00 A.M. They told me to head for the latrine for safety. I opted for the rock rather than the toilet. duckydoty A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
brittsnbirds Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 I was a little annoyed to the PR's attitude. I actually had to stop him. He acted a little peeved. I asked him what was going on. He said "find hard shelter". I looked up and saw the beautiful full moon, it was 65ish out, my response was "why?". He says there's a tornado coming, then started to drive off. I hollered at him "hey, where's the shelter?". He stopped and tells me to go down to the hotel. I didn't know they had one. So me and the dog jumped into the truck and head down the hill where we met several other people parking on the big hill. Needless to say it was a mess. We were there maybe 15 minutes. Overall I think the people down there do a great job. But this moron apparently was caught up in the moment of getting to run his lightbar and sireeen. Someone might let him know (before next time) that the object is not only get their (public) attention but also to communicate what you want them to do!
mcp633 Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Britts, Back when I worked in a smaller community without warning sirens, if there was a severe storm or tornada coming in the middle of the night, we would drive the residential areas doing the same thing until the supervisor would tell us to take shelter. Except we would use the PA on the car. I don't think it was probably very effective, but its all we had. Uh, hello, where am I supposed to go?!? Crown Vic doesn't offer much shelter! If you don't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them
brittsnbirds Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 I wondered if I would get a rise out of you? I've done that a few times.
mcp633 Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Yeah, I'm still here. Park Rangers are definitely a different breed. Boy I could tell some stories about things I've seen! Then again, they have a different job, and a lot of ground to cover. Kind of like the MDC Agents. Too few and far between and do the best they can with what they've got. If you don't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them
brittsnbirds Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 I would also add that the pay isn't too whooopie! I watched a couple of MDC plainclothes agents on Saturday. They weren't too obvious, Ford Taurus, several packs of cigarettes on dash, bino's in seat with a portable radio. What drew my attention was when they backed in they just set there. Then up came the bino's. Neither one were very friendly. I told them that I really appreciated them being there, thought it would be nice if they were there more often. One remarked "we've got a lot of territory to cover". OK, your welcome.
