RyanG Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 After a rather crappy finish in a college flw on ft Gibson Saturday, I decided to hit beaver Sunday for a little fun fishing. I got out about 1 or so and headed to coose, my go to stomping grounds. As usual I was looking for the green fish. I just wanted to have fun and catch em and relax and enjoy the weather. Had a few good ones on a fluke with one going almost 3 pounds if I had to guess, he came off at the boat. Once again I hammered the spots on a few boat docks with a fluke and Kietech swimbait, lots of small fish. I noticed a lot of decent fish up real shallow but most were easily spooked or locked down on either beds or guarding fry, at least that's how they acted. All in all it was a nice and relaxing day, ended the day with about 15 fish with a few keepers, mostly spots. I'm excited to have some free time in the coming weeks with the semester ending, that means more time on the water! Lance34, Dan the fisherman and zarraspook 3
chi0082 Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Thanks for the report. How was the water clarity up there? And water temp?
J-Doc Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 This is the time of year I like most. This is the easiest time of year (for me at least) to catch bass for fun. You don't have to work extra hard just to get some decent bites. The ski boats and jetskis have not driven them to deep water yet and the water temp has them up shallow. Once it gets hot, the bass will transition to their summer haunts and go deep during the day for the most part due to noise/traffic and water temps. So will the bait. I love this time of year. There were some wake boats running so the banks had some mud but I could see down about 5 feet in a lot of places. Its starting to look like normal beaver. Water temp was around 67-68. 5 hours ago, J-Doc said: This is the time of year I like most. This is the easiest time of year (for me at least) to catch bass for fun. I agree! It was nice to just get out and say "I wanna throw a fluke" and catch some fish. I love taking my dad out this time of year, he doesn't fish much so when they are biting well we always just have a great time. I'm not ready for the summer time pattern yet! lol.
Stump bumper Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Ryan I can only catch them like that when I am not in a tournament...if I had entered I would have weighed two 12 inch spots and they would have called one a LM and I would have minus 2lbs on the board. RyanG 1

I am in the same boat more often than not!
