Danoinark Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Is that marabou, grizzly and chenille? Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 9, 2007 Root Admin Posted April 9, 2007 Looks like the jig Brad Wright caught his big brown on. Different color though.
timsfly Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 It is a 1/32 jig head, moss green marabou tail, olive #2 chennile and grizzly hackle. I have tied this for years. It works great for about any fish in the ozarks, I tie them 1/4 oz and 1/8th oz for smallmouth and largemouth and tie them in lots of different colors. Terry Beeson Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 It's certainly my "go to" fly for sure. Of course, if I was spin fishing, I'd have to have a few of those jigs. Must be somethin' 'bout that grizzly hackle... Crippled Caddis Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 <Here is the pic a few of you have asked for.> Been tying that for years both as a jig and fly. Didn't know it had a name. I just combined materials and colors I knew to be effective and used them to make something that catches fish. Proving once again that there's little new under the flytying sun.;o) "You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in their struggle for independence." ---Charles Austin Beard

Special, someone pm'ed me the other day and ask me what materials I used to make the R.R. special, so here it is.
