Wayne SW/MO Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Dan you need to find a more localised place to live. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Forsythian Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Maybe 2 miles to River Run, 10 miles to Beaver Creek and 10 miles to K dock. 3 miles to Empire Park (Taneycomo). About 20 miles to Shepherd of the Hills (Taneycomo) and State Park (Table Rock). Maybe 45 minutes to Buck Creek or Theodosia, a little over 1 hour to Roaring River. A little over an hour to Dawt Mill (Northfork River). Cenosillicaphobiac
Terry Beeson Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Terry, it sounds like you live exactly where I do,lol. So are you the one that's been eatin' all my Nutter Butters and drinkin' all my Crown? No... wait... My step-daughter eats the cookies... and the killer Yorkies drink the booze... YOU'RE the one responsible for all the Playboy and Spice Channel charges on my cable bill!!!! At LEAST you could RECORD them! TIGHT LINES, YA'LL  "There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process." - Paul O’Neil
taxidermist Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 From my front door to the boat ramp at Scottys on tacomo is 52 miles.
Sam Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 For me it's 35 miles to K Dock and about 32-35 miles to several launch ramps on Tablerock. Bridgeport is about the closest at 26 miles. Stockton is about 60 miles and Pomme de Terre is 70+, so I don't get to those too often. I'll hit Theodosia at least once a year, but that's crowding 100 miles. Those distances are GREAT by comparison, though. We lived in Southern California for years and people would often say they were going to the "river" for the weekend. There's just one RIVER, the Colorado, and it's 200+ miles away, in the middle of a nasty desert, and crowded with ski boats when you get there. Compared with that, we've got it real good here in MO for fishing holes.
Members PowersiteProwler Posted March 6, 2007 Members Posted March 6, 2007 Right at 2 hours to River Run, but I'll tell ya, Catching fish is a bonus, just being on the water down there is worth every stinking minute of the drive!!!
