sandbc Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 finally have a good crappie day to report. brother and I started about 9 am this morning. decided to fish the main lake brush piles before all the recreation boats got out then head to the more secluded areas to fish in piece. only had 5 keepers by 1130 am when the water started getting rough from all the boats. went to check another pile wile in the area but someone had beat us to it. pulled into a cove we had never fished and found a little scattered pile so decided to try it while we were there. got a little action on minnows which is what we caught the first 5 on and took a quick break to eat a sandwich then started getting notice on jigs then bingo. started picking them up on red body white skirt tube jigs. got very light hits just about every cast but was hard to get them to commit. we would throw over the brush pile and try to drag along the top of it about 6 foot deep to get them. we had to work at it but we managed to both get out limits by 330 pm. sure felt good to catch them on jigs for a change and to get limits. we only had about a dozen shorts all day. I also picked up some on silver glitter body/chart tail and brother caught some on yellow twister tails. water temp went from 72 in morning to 80 when we quit. clarity about 3 foot deep. beautiful but warm day out and lots and lots of boaters. oh only about 8 males and the rest females mostly full of eggs. good luck everyone.
