Hello,

My wife and I are moving to Northwest Arkansas from New Hampshire in early/mid July.  I will be teaching in Gravette and my wife who is a certified occupational therapy assistant will be searching for a job in the area.  We have family in Maumelle and have been visiting for over a decade and are finally taking the leap to leave the cold winters behind.  We are in the process of finalizing a rental house on the south end of Lake Windsor.  I am an avid bass fisherman.  I won a Triton 18xs bass boat from bassmaster and had to sell it so that we can move to Arkansas (never even got to drive it, it never saw the water) so I will be arriving with no boat, I even sold my Old Town canoe.  Eventually once we get settled, I will likely get a small boat or canoe.  I am really looking forward to living in the area and being able to bass fish year round.  Just trying to establish connections and also figure out how the POA works as that is totally new to me.  Hopefully, as a renter, I will be able to purchase an annual ID to access the lakes and other facilities without having to pay daily fees.  Also looking forward to exploring the big lakes in the area, seems like a fisherman's paradise, truly.  Any information and advice on the area and the fishing would be greatly appreciated.  I look forward to meeting some of you out on the water.

Welcome to NW Arkansas!  I'm a transplant myself, been here about 8 years now.  Spent part of my life living in the Boston area.

I don't know how it works for renters, but I think you can get an ID card to fish the lakes and access the amenities.  Fishing gets tough about the time you'll get here, becomes either a late evening night thing or very early in the AM for a few hours. The BV lakes, though private, receive quite a bit of pressure, in spite of that, they can be fairly good and contain some sizeable bass.

Feel free to PM me if you have some questions.
