sandbc Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 buddy and I put in at cc at 6:15 this morning and went searching for crappie in out usual spots. tried a shallow cove first with no luck. moved to some favorite summer time deep trees along the river channel and slowly started picking up some nice slabs. some on minnows and some on jigs. fish were about 7 or 8 foot deep in 23 fow. the fish were not aggressive at all. was biting very lite but yet would swallow hook. they shut down about 8:30 as the sun got higher I guess. started getting pretty warm by mid morning so moved over to a bluff brush pile where we had a little shade. started catching all sizes there the same depth but only on minnows. tried another favorite hole with no luck. went to a big cove in 9 fow and started catching again but this time only on jigs not minnows. by now my count is 12 keepers his is 10 and now the storm clouds have moved in and cool wind is blowing. time to git off the lake. 2:30 pm. biggest was 13.5 inches and a couple 13s and some nice 12s. Im sure we would have limited out had not been for the storm. nice but hot day on the lake with no wind till the storm. good luck everyone. terryj1024, Hammer time, bassfisher and 2 others 5
