"Vaulued opinions on equipment......."

Just don't ask Mr. Beeson's opinion on pick ups!!! :D

I use the magentic holder too...but you guys have inspired me to try something new...hanging it in the handle down position. I can see how this would be more convenient as well as result in fewer snags in the brush when I'm stalking the wild, elusive Dink! One question - where do I attach the magnet - to the outside rim opposite the handle???

David

PS....I appreciate the comic relief also!

Dave you got it, and the easiest way is to use one of those wire ties through the mesh, or just above it at the top to keep from tearing your bag.

<_<

This from a guy who drive a FORD...

The one I got came with a wire tie. I did attach it around the frame with the tie.

If you watch the backs of most guides, you'll see they have the handle down... At least that's been MY observation and why I chose to do it that way... And it does make it easy to grab the handle to land the dink...

Sorry to chime in so late....

I had been looking for a fairly long handled net with a rubber basket for a long time that didn't cost big $$$. The reason I was looking for a long handle is to land fish just a little farther away for my fisherman, thus saving a few heartbreaks a year ;). Anyway, I was at Bass Pro in St. Charles a couple of weeks ago and came across this Frabill Landing Nets It is listed on Frabill's website for $69.99 but Bass Pro had it for $19.99!!! I don't know if it was mistakenly priced that or what but I didn't complain. B)

I usually only carry a net when I am guiding. I also wear a hip pack instead of a vest so I have no D-ring but I just slide the handle of the net down my hip pack and it works great!

Honestly it probably isn't for everyone but it was exactly what I was looking for and $100 cheaper than most of the other ones a lot like it.

Terry-

I don't know if it was you that recommended a net that a guy down at the LOZ builds. He has several styles but also offers a couple that you finish yourself (kit). I tried to find the site but couldn't. Do you have the site?

I carry a old one that I bought several years ago. I've been carrying mine on a magnet for years, handle down. I had to put some polyurethane on it this year to keep it from falling apart. The net is in desperate need of replacement.

The other nice part about the magnet is you can shove your net down in the water if you drop your hemo's. Granted your not too deep.
