PHhunter Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Put good cold well water in your livewell. Best way to keep fish.
Walcrabass Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Jerry, From the game wardens I have been friends with in my life I can tell you DEFINITELY DON'T GET CAUGHT WITH 12 BASS IN YOUR BOAT AT ONE TIME BY YOURSELF !!!! Words of wisdom from...... Walcrabass.
bassfisher Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Thanks I'll see you guys Saturday I'll be in a gold and black triton
Basschomper Posted July 13, 2016 Author Posted July 13, 2016 Bass fisher hope to see you there great group of guys. Always have a good time. Jerry I am currently trying to get some of these questions answered as it did not cross my mind about 2 separate days or if they are separate in this instance Walcrabass I feel that I trust MDC would not allow the tournaments if there was a signicant mortality rate. As far as the honesty all I can do is control my own which is led by God above and was driven, I mean persuaded by my dad's belt. Not to mention just being a night tournament opens a lot of doors for dishonesty.
Members 5fshlmt Posted July 13, 2016 Members Posted July 13, 2016 Jerry makes a valid point I never considered... Will be curious to hear what you find out Chomper.
Walcrabass Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Basschomper, I guess it all boils down to what is "Significant death rate". Once again I must stress MONEY !!! Our MDC and others in other states need it too and so I personally believe it always has some sway in things. Like I said before, Paper Trail Tournaments would be awesome as far as the death rate is concerned. One other point is that a lot of "Bass Pros" completely stop competitive fishing in the summer months. This is probably mostly because the daytime fishing falls off so much. In other words a night tournament for the "big bucks" would be so hard to keep 100% honest. I agree with the belt thing Walcrabass
Basschomper Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 Spoke Derek Farwell this afternoon. He is the conservation agent for Cedar county. He said the only way to get another limit would be to take your Saturday limit out of the boat (home to freezer) so you could start your Sunday limit at midnight. Which comes back to the " words of wisdom " from Walcrabass " don't get caught with 12 bass in your boat at one time by yourself ". So in order to take your limit to the freezer would mean leaving your boat, which is a violation of tournament rules, and starting with 0 fish in the livewell with 1 hour to fish.
MOPanfisher Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Correct we have covered the 2 limit thing during night fishing before, though I believe it was directed toward crappie and walleye. You cannot posess more than a daily limit of fish while one the water or shoreline.

MOPanfisher Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Here is a cut n paste from the regs. No idea how to link it but found the topic in march or April in the stockton forum. The title is something like clarification needed . . . You may possess no more than the daily limit of any given species while you are on waters, or on the banks of waters, where daily limits for those species apply. Any species taken into actual possession, unless released unharmed immediately after being caught, shall continue to be included in the daily limit of the taker for the day.
