Howdy

I just found this site.. great place! I am not new to fishing, been fishing since my dad put a pole in my hand. Dad was never a stream/creek/ river fisherman. Lakes and reservoirs, nothing wrong with that... I enjoyed it while he was around. I just recently got a kayak and am dying to try some streams and creeks.. possibly small rivers. (Big river, etc - MAYBE meremac one I get some experience under me)

in any case I live near the st. louis area any decent small mouth streams around? I am not looking for honey holes, I am more than happy to do the searching on a body of water and find them myself. :-)  unfortunately right now I am working six days a week, and the seventh is taken up with things I can't get done the other 6.  so not a lot of time for fishing... there is a light at the end of the tunnel though... Mid august things should free up for a while.

on my whole one day off I've been paddling up the Joachim near Herculaneum,  with very limited time it's not surprising I haven't caught much. used a buzz bait last Sunday and caught a large mouth. couple other hits, but thats it.

as for my kayak, it slow but stable. got a perception stirker 11.5 (angler)

All rivers/streams you mentioned have smallies in them.  Be sure to put them back so others can enjoy catching them too

Welcome me to the site.
