hillbillyflyshack Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 We held a small club bass tournament today and surprisingly enough most of the guys caught fish mostly on big worms rigged texas style as well as the carolina rig. Quite a few were caught on a jig also and the best arm today was the Pomme arm toward the river. Guess where I went thats right I chose the other arm and got my butt handed to me but will persevere and keep fishing even though it got hot later in the day with more traffic than was expected we still love the lake and will be back. Stayed at Clearlight Inn and were very pleased with the service and accomodations. We ate at the Crappie Hole and the food was great and at a very affordable price with great service also.
Ketchup Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Thanks for the info. My family camped up near the dam. Left the boat home this trip "rare occasion" but had a buddy fish a tourney Saturday. They had 22 pounds pre-fishing Wednesday, and struck out on tourney day. It was HOT. We have a club tourney this Sat. On the Pomme Arm. It's a Great Lake. I've lived and fished on it pretty hard the past 20 years. This time of year can be tough anywhere. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
hillbillyflyshack Posted July 26, 2016 Author Posted July 26, 2016 That is what happened to us on Sunday we choose to fish the Lindley creek arm and should have went to the Pomme arm as we got a good old fashioned butt kicken'. I agree that it is a beautiful lake but need to learn more on how as to fish and where although we did try several brushpiles but with very little to show for it.
