creek wader Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Very impressive, Al. That trip would make my whole year. I've been fishing for smallies for only a few years. Apparently, I've got much to learn. Starting with using crank baits. I've always been a jig fisherman. Evendently, I've been restricting my tactics and my catch. Great pics. wader
snap Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 ..not minnith in a boat Mark...but Al, give some locals a hint...how many miles and in which direction from your house??? without, of cousre, naming the stream!
Al Agnew Posted March 24, 2007 Author Posted March 24, 2007 Heck, guys, there ain't that many streams within 90 miles of where I live that you can take a jetboat on! By the way, I went back to the same area, though a slightly different stretch, last week with my dad. The fish had totally moved out of the winter holes, which we didn't figure out until late in the day. Ended up catching about 15 fish, a couple around 16 inches but no big ones, and most of them were in fairly fast runs, eating spinnerbaits.
snap Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Thanks Al, for the updated report and their movement out of winter pools. I was thinking the same thing about where a guy could get a jet on the water! ...and catch smallmouth!
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 How's the boat working out Al? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
