Probably not the right forum, but joined Ozark Anglers a couple of weeks ago and have only been lurking (almost 100% on the Beaver Lakr forum).  Super happy to have stumbled onto this.  I have played around on Beaver lake for over 30 years but my first fishing trip was this past December.  Beaver is a super intimidating fishery but I "forced" myself to just get out there and mess around.   This site and the contributors are a wealth of information and I just wanted to say thanks.   Information about wiggle warts, Ned rigs, crappie trolling has already proved valuable.  I have lots of questions, most that have probably already been asked and answered, so my apologies.    I am definitely still clueless, but have had "small wins", albeit most of them by accident.  Literally during my first trip last December I thought I would go out and try and catch some crappie.  Mike at HC dock told me to have a Rattle trap ready in case I saw any surfacing shad.  I did, trolled up to them, and on first cast caught a 24"+ striper.  For a second, I thought......."dang, this is easy".   Fast forward to this summer and my wife and I were trolling near the water intake between HC and MN and she snagged this paddlefish!   When she saw it she exclaimed "I CAUGHT A SHARK", she's been excited ever since that she "caught" this behemoth.  I'm usually south of the Hwy 12 bridge in a white 2005 18' Ranger.  Feel free to stop and say hi.

Welcome out of the shadows!!!  I love the pic of the spoon bill, I have yet to land one of those, I think I have snagged a few but never got one up to prove it.

I look forward to more photos and stories

Welcome to the board JMax!  Bass fishing has been pretty phenomenal this year but lately it has been pretty darn tough!!  Some guys are trolling and catching crappie pretty good..we usually start laying the hammer to them in October/November. The spoonbill is awesome!!  I'm jealous!!!
