Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 10, 2007 Root Admin Posted March 10, 2007 If you get a chance- the next couple of days you'll find white bass in Roark Creek before the first bridge. I guess the rain washed some colored, warm water in and brought some white up. Jigs or shad crank baits will work on them.
crappiefisherman Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 PHIL can you see the fish from the bridge?Do you fish from the south bank?Im interested .I got the flu and 101 temp but its so close i mite take a drive in a bit [ [
Randall Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 i want to hit up some white bass water when i come down tuesday, is this my best bet, and how do i get to the water there? Cute animals taste better.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 11, 2007 Author Root Admin Posted March 11, 2007 There's not bank fishing- all boat.. It's private plus the bank is steep and brushy. When you to in Roark, you turn to the left towards the bridge. The bend is deep- that's where I'd start and fish towards the mouth. It's not a big area. I didn't fish- talk to someone who saw them being caught.
Randall Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 i don't have a boat. oh well. thanks anyway. Cute animals taste better.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 11, 2007 Author Root Admin Posted March 11, 2007 Jeremy R is fishing at Beaver and Swan Creeks tonight... if he does well, either he or I will post and let you know. That's your best chance to bank fish for whites around here. They should be making false runs up in Beaver at least with this warm weather/rain.
Randall Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 good stuff. thanks a lot. if you couldn't tell, i really really want to get into whites and hybrids on the flyrod Cute animals taste better.
Members Fozzy Posted March 11, 2007 Members Posted March 11, 2007 Went up in ruark cove I didn't catch any whites...a few 12 inch largemouths and many rainbow trout on roadrunners and small spinners. Several trout seen swimming under the boat....There may be some whites up there...wish i could've caught a few... Anybody else catch some?
crappiefisherman Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 hey fozzy, do you live in lakewood estates?I talked to a gentlman the other day fishing spinners in the mouth of roark while my wife and I took a walk on the path down there. If its you howdy [ [
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 11, 2007 Author Root Admin Posted March 11, 2007 If you saw fish then the water has cleared up. They won't be there till the water is murky. They'll be out in the lake again.
