CoolHandFluke Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Not familiar with Taneycomo at all. have been thinking about going for a while. is there any good walleye fishing in lower taney? if so what techniques are best? Thanks
Moswimb8slinger Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Nothing really on lower Taneycomo. They are in the lake, but most are caught in the "Trophy Area" in the upper half, shad/minnow type flies & jigs and jerkbaits.
rps Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 The walleye in Taneycomo come through the Table Rock dam. I am sure the lake has a resident population, but other than those that hold near the dam to eat the stocker trout, I do not know where they hang. I would suspect the usual tactics - bottom bouncers with night crawer harness and trolled plugs, and jigs with minnows would catch fish, including walleye. I fish Tablerock so I have no experience. Good luck.
rainbow Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 If you fish below the dam on Taney you can't use any live bait or soft plastics. Get down on Bull Shoals for Walleye. Buster Loving of Busters guide service catches lots of walleye there mostly in winter. Look him up on Facebook.
