Any good spots where you can walk/wade for a while?

I am pretty new to fishing.  I have just got into it this summer.  I have a kayak and have fished lake springfield from it but I never catch anything there.  I cant figure that lake out at all.  The water clarity is always so poor, 1-2 foot max.

I would rather walk the banks and wade in the water, it is much easier for me than fishing on your butt an inch off the water.  Is there anywhere around here with some good streches where you can drive to and walk/wade the banks for a good bit?

Or anyone know of other river/creek/streams that you can do this where the water isn't always so low visibility?  I have fished the james up by marshfield and the water was crystal clear and you could wade for a could great stretches.  But I am hoping to find a place closer to springfield.

Any one got any ideas?  I am loving my new hobby, but it would be better if I could actually catch fish too.

There's quite a few decent areas to wade. Near rivercut golf course is good, up from Delaware town. I would take advantage of having the kayak tho. I catch way more fish using mine vs when I didn't. And I wouldn't give up on Springfield lake. It can definitely be tough but it's a pretty good lake once you get an idea of what's happening out there. Send me a pm and I could give you some tips on them if you would like. Here's a few from spf lake.
