Bob A Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Thanks for turning in the violator. Wish we could see more of that. Getting ticketed may not break this slime ball violator from sucking eggs but it might slow him down some. Regards Bob A ( Springfield)
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Good Job! Nice to see some honest people doing what's right. John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
brittsnbirds Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Good job! while I was at BSP on the opener I spoke with some agents that were working under cover. I thanked them for being there and asked them if they did this type of thing often. They gave me the opinion that there isn't enough of them and they have to go all over the state. I also asked them if it did any good telling the guys that worked at the hatchery. They both again gave me the impression that those guys "don't get too excited" about violators when reported. It looks like you spoke with the right person. As it has been discussed in another post, obviously the penalties are not severe enough for that guy to think twice. I say arrest him, take all of his tackle, his ride, wife, first born etc. Fine him and make him do stream clean up for the next 50 years. Again good job!

Terry Beeson Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Jeez... you guys are brutal! The final scene from "Braveheart" comes to mind... The probability of getting caught are slim in most of these cases unless someone does witness the act and "drop a dime" on the violator. That's why things like this are pretty common and blatant. And I fear society as a whole has become too tolerant of such acts. Randall Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 nahh, that ain't harsh enough. we want him to suffer. i think you helped make our point though. if they make examples of the people they do catch, it'll discourage all but the most brazen of poachers. post the picture, description of the crime, and the penalty in the local paper and also on where you buy tags at the park and where you park at the c.a.'s... it'll discourage would-be poachers. Cute animals taste better.
