bferg Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Hey guys: now that the water and air temp are getting right and the deer is in the freezer I am going to head out Sat Am looking for stripers. Looks like a lot of you have been seeing a lot of activity the last few weeks. If you were going out Saturday would you start up near RB or is there some mid-lake action yet?
Members Jack Perdew Posted November 10, 2016 Members Posted November 10, 2016 I've been seeing fish on side scan between the islands , east bluff and 12 bridge.
Members Alumacraft190 Posted November 10, 2016 Members Posted November 10, 2016 I left the lake on Sunday around 11 AM. I was fishing point 5 area and had traveled the water everywhere between ford creek and point 5. The most activity on sonar I saw was toward point 5, with water temperature around 68.5-69 degrees. If you guys have had the weather we've had since Sunday I'm sure those fish have got to be starting to head south as Jack alluded to with his comments.
J-Doc Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Just don't do what everyone else seems to do. See someone with downlines and then pull up near them on plane, make a bunch of noise and start fishing the same general area the other fella is doing. Or following the guide boats around. I heard the fish are a bit scattered due to a frontal condition? I was out Sunday but as anyone knows, Beaver changes daily and it's a "conditions lake". So you have to find a pattern that works for that day which makes it uber-tough. You have not been on the water in a while, don't know where to start or what to look for and you only have 4-8hrs to make the trip worth getting out of bed. I roamed around for a little while trying to graph fish and put something together for the first half hour last Sunday. Then went to my originally planned area and started looking for bait or signs of life. Then dropped lines (following original plan) and finally saw some things on the graph and got lucky and got one. Sometimes, it just takes luck and being in the right place at the right time. Currently, I have no idea where that place is. I do know what my instincts tell me and that's what I go with. Don't fish the history, fish the conditions. Hammer time 1 Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. Stump bumper Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 I went out Tuesday, saw some fish on the screen by point 6 that disappeared real fast, no bites. So I went down by point 10 and could not even locate a bait ball. Cruised between the islands as it was getting dark and saw nothing only to read on here someone hooked a striper at the sidewalk hole when my thought was all the fish were up North. So I am of no help to anyone, anywhere so I will be quite now.
J-Doc Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Stump, how many times do I have to share my secret bait with you? Chartreuse dynamite with a feathered treble hook stinger on the tail end. Doesn't always work but with the right fuse length, your chances are pretty good. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! Dan the fisherman Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 They're definitely on the move. I checked a couple of spots yesterday between goat island and point 6 yesterday and it was a ghost town. Only thing I caught yesterday was a huge white. Water temp dropped 3-4 degrees sense I last went. Guess it's time to get back on the hunt. ??

bferg Posted November 12, 2016 Author Posted November 12, 2016 Thanks fellas... my plans ended up being over-ridden. Going to burn some brush piles today instead. Hopefully I can make it out next weekend. But appreciate the info you guys share on here anyway!
