I took a long awaited trip to Bariloche, Argentina in the Patagonia region and absolutely loved it.  We spent a week fishing from Dec 28 to Jan 4.  We were there during a time that the biggest fish were in the lakes rather than in the rivers, but we still caught plenty of fish.  Getting there is a long process, but once there, it is very affordable if you are more of a do it yourselfer.  We hired guides for a day on the Limay and one day on the Manso rivers and then fished on our own on a number of wadeable rivers. The guides are first rate. www.troutbariloche.com  By the way, the food there is second to none.  If you have ever wanted to go, I would be happy advise you how to do it much cheaper than you might have imagined.  I posted a couple of pictures here, but a lot more can be found on my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/brian.sloss.5
