Well guys thank for all the inputs. I greatly appreciate  it. Got this from another guy see what you guys think about this, I have looked in to this and I don't think it a bad thing at all. Let know what you think.

My 10 year old boat came with Lowrance graphs and, 2 years ago, I switched to Humminbird SI/DI units.  I mounted my transducer for the console unit on my jackplate with a transducer shield and saver.  I then used an adapter to use the already installed in hull transducer puck.  I'm not sure how it works, but your HB will read from the jackplate at slow speeds so you can use the DI and/or SI, but when you increase speed it will automatically switch to the in-hull transducer so you have depth reading at speed.  :Like others have said, I would put the SI on the back so you can idle around areas and mark spots.

Here is a link to an article about the adapter.    http://www.sonarwars.com/convert-lowrance-to-humminbird-2d-sonar/

Dprice, you said you had your trolling motor cables tightened up. You did this because? To help your image problems?

Justfishing... my set up is as such as that you just said. SI/DI transducer is mounted on my jack plate and 2D in the hull. Like I said in earlier post they make a Y cable to do this. When you use this cable connection the graph will still read off 2D transducer in the hull at higher speeds. The SI/DI will be out of the water at this time of running

Justfishing... so what you are experiencing now with the set up you have is. Your transducer is mounted so high on your transom and with only that one transducer doing your 2D/di at speeds over 8mph it is out of the water. That's why you loose your depth reading

Bigfishscott thank you for your information. I am 3 years into owning this boat and finally seeing end of tunnel on all the the problems. First 6 months into this boat spent a lot of time working on wiring and getting motor set up and getting it propped right..  I have asked a lot of questions on the forms weather it was on boat probkem or fishing and have received a lot of good information.  Thanks to the good people here!!!!!!!!!!!!

For side imaging transducer on trolling motor  motor doesn't  spin freely to loose side imaging so badly problem with this is fishing in rollers  targeting structure

trolling motors typically come up and  out of water  switch allowed si on bow and transducer on transom  shared with 2d puck

I run a 2d on transom Currently and reads at medium speeds

eventually 360 imaging came out on market  and this has changed

now you can add multiple Ethernet type connections between multiple sonars I beleive

to each his own Scott  but with the switch you have the ability to switch off when a puck is broken off by a mishap

the y cable I thot came with helixs in box

but the end thot  seems to be for me  si is no longer needed  610 way points  and mapping cards installed and I don't really need it

however I am still interested in the chirp systems  and wonder if they are any better

Thanks again guys
