J-Doc Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 No fishing report. Took a couple of hours to run the boat and take my 7yr old out. She's been begging to go fishing which is odd. She's a diva princess and not really into it. Haven't been since Christmas Eve. Which is rare for me. Tried a dock and a couple of spots to get a small crappie on a hook for her but they were not in my honey hole this time of year with the low water. I let her sit in my lap, drive the boat, honk the horn and wave at people, and had a good time with her. She was a good sport and wants to go again when the fish are biting for a 7yd old on a bobber with absolutely ZERO patience. Lol! Still, it wss nice to run the boat again and make some memories with who will be my future fishing partner. She's such silly little kid to. zarraspook, Lance34, Champ188 and 4 others 7 Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Stump bumper Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 J-Doc there were lots of people doing the same with the kids and wives. It was not an afternoon to fish for sure. I was trying to find bait in the afternoon but all the coves were were full of anything that would float. I followed the birds and saw them diving down near the water intake between points 11 and 12. I was headed that way with a cast net in hand when two bass boats running side by side with wives aboard came right through the birds, then turned around and started chasing the birds. I just stowed my gear and headed for the dock. Summer should did get here fast, if you can't get cold weather in February when can you get it? Looks like night fishing or up before sunrise is the only fishing there is right now, didn't expect that until May. I will be on the road working until April and by that time the wake boats will rule, guess I will get out the night lights when I get back.
