PC Connection Needed

I finally broke down and bought my first digital camera. After several months of researching in my price range, I chose the Pentax OptioW20 over the Olympus 720SW. My decision factor was based on $50 cost savings and slightly higher customer reviews.

The problem is that I want to upload several pics to my computer to share on forums and via email. However, I should have received a PC connection manual when I ordered from Abe's of Maine. So, far, I've spent too many hours online trying to find the manual and have not received response from the vendor.

Any advice on instructions or a link to the to the instructions would be immensely appreciated.

Pentax connection manual????? I assume that you received a connection cable or the camera uses SD memory. You should be able to connect it to an XP computer or take the memory card out and insert it in a card reader to get the pics of the computer. The manual is on Pentax website for point and shoot camera

Scroll down to the M20 or the A20 part, whichever you have.

Don didn't you get a cable to go from the camera to the usb port on your ocmputer. You should just connect it, turn on the camera and it should do its thing automatically. Dano

I tried exactly what you said. Apparently I'm lacking somewhere. My teenage daughter could probably figure it out. This is really embarrasing from a man who has actually written a computer program through an IBM website during grad school .

Which model camera do you have, A20, M20 or W20. I clicked the links for all three of the pc connection manuals and they are downloading to my computer. I only have dialup so it will be a while. Sounds like you may have other issues.

Trying to send pm with brochure, can't post file on forum.

should be as simple as connecting the cable from the camera to the computer with the camera off.

turn the camera on and windows should detect it.

open in windows explorer and find highlight all the pics.

drag em over to whatever folder you chose to put em in.

find the icon on your toolbar. chose stop when you find your camera.

turn it off and disconnect it.
