Not sure about that, however while crappie fishing on Saturday we caught several whites.  I imagine if one were fishing for them they would do very well.

The traditional "run" of whites up the river is a very hit/miss proposition.  Depends on some rainfall to give a little flow to the river, but not so much that it floods.  Daylight and water temp both play a role in the timing as well.  I will say this, the whites are active around the lake, and are coming back.  Windy banks and points, etc. are good options, and in some of the coves that open to the south, a south wind will sometimes pile warmer water into them and bring shad with it.  Where the shad go, so do the whites.
