Mike jones Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 If anyone wants to get their rod bent on lots of whites with stripers and hybrids mixed in, go to the back 1/3 of Avoca. Busting shad on top today and eating anything thrown their way!! Unfortunately, we were after bass and struggled with only 5 keeper bites all day. Stump bumper and Dan the fisherman 2
bferg Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Mike: What was the water color like back there? Sorry you had a tough day! Look on the bright side- it was a beautiful day out--- errr- nevermind:) Mike jones 1
Stump bumper Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 I knew I should have been out there yesterday! The nice weather has me spoiled. That is funny since the last time I was after whites all I caught were blacks. I could have put together a 20lb sack easy but the only striper I got was short. Sounds like they are out of the river moving North, thank you for the report.
Members Fish Hound Posted March 27, 2017 Members Posted March 27, 2017 I thought with some inflow the whites would be moving up in the rivers so I put the boat in and tried the War Eagle arm. That was like fishing in chocolate milk. I don't think the stripers would like that dirty water and if the whites were in there I didn't find them.
