Tightline Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Just was wondering if anyone else has seen or taken any pictures of the Eagles and their nest that are above the Blunk hole,I haven't been to that part of James yet.Surely someone has taken a pic.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 29, 2007 Root Admin Posted March 29, 2007 We didn't see them when we were there Monday.
taxidermist Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 There is also a nesting pair about .6 mile bnelow the Ranchette access. These birds are in the third year I know of, the wintered over and already appear to be on the nest. In the big Sickymore(pun) tree. Last year the raised one fledgling. Anyway Monday the largest was on the lest standing gaurd.
Members hornyheadchub Posted March 29, 2007 Members Posted March 29, 2007 On the afternoon of Saturday the 24th of March, I fished on river left at the little feeder creek (name?) just above McCord bend and enjoyed the sounds of the eagle coming from the nest. The nest is pretty clearly visible and is made of pretty substantial branches and is nearly the size of an oil drum! Sorry, no photos.)
Tightline Posted April 2, 2007 Author Posted April 2, 2007 Well I finally got to see the Eagles this mourning,What a sight that was both of them there feeding the chicks. One flew off before I could take a picture the other is bent down in the nest feeding.Someone with a good strong lens could get a better picture. The nest is as big as a washer. They are located right where the path comes off the hill at the bluff hole, about 400- 500 yds above the bend at Taylor shoals.
