Members 2bfishn Posted March 29, 2007 Members Posted March 29, 2007 Fished the tailwater several times in the last 2 weeks and it gets better everytime. A friend and I fished from 5:30 to about 9 on Tuesday night. We had our limit of whites and 16 or 18 crappie. Wish it wasnt such a long drive from Marshfield
vonreed Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I wish it wasn't such a long drive from Highlandville, lol. It takes me about 1hr 45mins to get there. I don't mind the drive, but it sucks by myself and my wife gets tired of me bugging her all the time to go.
gonefishin Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I also wish it wasn't such a long drive from Marshfield. I would rather be fishin'. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." Benjamin Franklin, 1759
Seth Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 It's 2.5 to 2.75 hours for me so don't feel bad fellas. Is anybody going to be down there this Sunday? I'm thinking about going up and snagging from the Roadhouse Dock again and then heading up to the tailrace to try my luck and catching my first hybrid and some whites and possibly some crappies.
vonreed Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Me and my wife went last night(Friday). We got there kinda late, 7:30 and immediately started catching fish 5 or 6 within minutes, then the horn blew and the water rose a little and switched directions a couple times and that was it, no more fish. We ended up with 7 crappie and 2 whites. I was a little disappointed with that. We left a little after 9.
Seth Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 I always thought the fishing got better when they crank on the water????
gonefishin Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 I went to Warsaw Friday. The fishing was slow but there were some being picked up here and there. I caught 8 keeper crappie, 2 small walleye and 2 hybrids. All in all it wasn't a bad day but the fishing wasn't good enough to get excited about. The bite was starting to pick up just before dark but, I had to leave. They didnt run the water the whole time I was there I would rather be fishin'. Members 2bfishn Posted April 2, 2007 Author Members Posted April 2, 2007 We went back up for the weekend. Got on the water about 5 or so Saturday night 2 boats of us and I think we all ended with limits of whites. I had 3 Hybrids. One of the Women with us caught her first hybrid. GO TINA!!! We fished untill about 9 Saturday night and started a little late on Sunday (I am getting to old for that late night and again early in the morning stuff). Sunday it was a little slow but we found some fish down river a ways. My wife is the multi species Queen I guess. She had crappie, whites, catfish, drum, and a nice Largemouth. Anyway ended with a nice bunch of whites, a nice bunch of crappie and some catfish fillets. They were not running the water while we were there.
