Lshack2 Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 June 1st works for me. So are we talking about 19 flies (9*2 +1) each? "All first-class fishermen on the Sea of Galilee were fly fishermen and that Apostle John, the favorite, was a dry fly fisherman..."Norman MacLean
DeepDiver75 Posted April 25, 2007 Author Posted April 25, 2007 June 1st is the due date for the Caddis Imitation swap. Two flies per person for the 9 tyers involved plus an extra fly for Rolan makes it 19 flies total. I'll post my address below for shipment: Jeff House 16112 s Cole Olathe, Kansas 66062 Deepdiver75@sbcglobal.net (send me an E-mail if there are any questions)
jjtroutbum Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Jeff My flies are done and will be sent to ya with the soft hackle shipment. Along with my self addressed and stamped envelope. Thanks for hosting this one had fun tying them and the flies just kept falling out of the vise nice and pretty that I went a head and wiped em out In a single sitting. Guess I better get some work done today sometime. JJ Jon Joy ___________ "A jerk at one end of the line is enough." unknown author The Second Amendment was written for hunting tyrants not ducks. DeepDiver75 Posted April 30, 2007 Author Posted April 30, 2007 Sounds great!! Is it against the rules for me to test run my pair before the swap is completed?? I just can't stand to let a good fly sit in my box unused!!
Steve Smith Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Jeff; my CDC EHC are on the way today ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO
jjtroutbum Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Rules? I did not read any stinkin rules! Naa I would prefer to send out non used flies the wetness would just add to the postage Jon Joy ___________ "A jerk at one end of the line is enough." unknown author The Second Amendment was written for hunting tyrants not ducks. DeepDiver75 Posted May 3, 2007 Author Posted May 3, 2007 Recieved the first batch of Caddis imitations today. A great looking CDC caddis imitation from Steve Smith (thanks for the bonus flies Steve, they are greatly appreciated!!). I sat down last night and tied a few of my pattern for practice, will probably try to tie a few for the swap tonight.
Steve Smith Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 No problem on the extra flys. I appreciate all you folks that have organized a swap. On the CDC EHC, do not grease the CDC. The purpose of the CDC body is to give the dry lifelike movement. Gink like applications will gum up the CDC strands and ruin most attraction to the pattern. After you catch a fish, rinse off the fly the best you can and air dry. If you have to use something, try powdered applications. ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO
Kicknbass Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Mine will go in the mail tomorrow. Thanks for hosting the swap Jeff. " Too many hobbies to work" - "Must work to eat and play"
DeepDiver75 Posted May 22, 2007 Author Posted May 22, 2007 I've recieved LShack2 and KansasFlyFisher flies. Sorry for the delay on the report but the walleye are really going in the local lakes and I've been spending all my time on the water . Great looking flies guys and thanks for the bonus flies. You can believe that they will be put to good use. I've only got about half of mine done so far, I need a day or two that are too nasty to put the boat on the lake to finish them up. If I don't get them finished in time can I send you each a bag of walleye fillets in place of flies? HaHa
