Kicknbass Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Just send me the walleye fillets and forget the flies. " Too many hobbies to work" - "Must work to eat and play"
DeepDiver75 Posted May 24, 2007 Author Posted May 24, 2007 Fried up a whole mess of them last night that were just caught Monday evening. Anyone who hasn't ever eaten a walleye is sure missing out!! I can't say that I enjoy walleye or crappie fishing as much as flyfishing for trout but I don't mind giving up a few weeks a year to fill the freezer .
The Caddis Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 Bump.... Mine were mailed before Memorial day, did you get them?
DeepDiver75 Posted June 3, 2007 Author Posted June 3, 2007 I have recieved all but one set of flies (Zach) as of today. A great looking bunch of flies that I think everyone will be pleased with. I will be on vacation this week so I probably won't think about mailing them out until I arrive back next weekend. Hopefully the last set will be in by then. I do plan on giving some of my set a try next week though, can't wait. I'll be at RockBridge with a buddy and his son for 2 days and then we're heading to Norfork or Taney depending on where we think we'll catch the least generation. Should be an enjoyable 5 day fishing trip.
DeepDiver75 Posted June 12, 2007 Author Posted June 12, 2007 I am still waiting on 1 set of flies to arrive. Zach are they on the way? If I don't get a reply or see the flies by Wednesday I will go ahead and send what I have. You will each get an extra set of your own back if I don't get the last set.
Kicknbass Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 It seems like there is always at least one person that bails out in the swaps. Too bad. " Too many hobbies to work" - "Must work to eat and play"
The Caddis Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I don't need extras of my own flies back. Why not mix up the the leftovers and distribute randomly? Or save them for a fundraiser and auction them off at a later time?

DeepDiver75 Posted June 13, 2007 Author Posted June 13, 2007 I don't think that last set of flies is coming guys. I'm going to go ahead and put them in the mail tomorrow if things go as planned. What about donating the extra set of flies to the auction at the FFF southern conclave this fall. I'm not a member but anything that benefits and promotes flyfishing is good in my book. I am planning on attending this year and I saw on their website that they were taking donations for their auction. We could donate them under OAF. I'm open for suggestions from all tiers. I don't even know if they would take them for the auction but I'm sure someone else on the forum will know.
