Steve Smith Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I got mine too. You folks make my CDC EHC look amatuer. Great job to all. ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO
troutchaser Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I used a turkey biot dyed caddis green. I just got the greatest mental image of a truckload of caddis green domestic turkeys! By the way, Caddis, those are some FINE looking flies, compadre. Paul Rone
The Caddis Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 hahaha!!!! a truckload of dyed turkey's, now that's funny, just sayin. Thanks for the compliment. When I got mine back I was wondering why there was no to tag. Well, you will be happy to know I have answered this question. The toe tags are sitting on my tying bench. So, here's the recipe: hook: Mustad size 14 dry fly thread: Uni 8/0 abdomen: turkey biot dyed caddis green wing: bleached elk hair thorax: dark green antron dubbing hackle: barred ginger or grizzly A variation on this I have tried in the past is to use an underwing of cdc and fish with a dropper. particulary deadly if the dropper is a green butt soft hackle.
jjtroutbum Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Got mine two! Unfortunately I have been busy enough making moo la. That I was not able to try any out yet, but thats the great thing about caddis around these parts there are always some just around the next bend no matter where your fishin. All patterns look great! And I'm starting to believe that more goes into the packages for them than some of the flies. A special thanks to Deepdiver for hosting the swap. Sorry that I didn't send my p.p. envelope. No excuse just forgot it had one siting here but didn't realize. I had for got it till I saw your writing on the package. Great swap Y'all now to find a little time to sneak away for a few days and try and not loose em.
